About

Madeline Grace Asbell, 17, from Leander, Texas, is a passionate advocate for Caregiving Youth through her platform, Giving Grace. Her inspiration is rooted in a special symbol—the bluebird, her grandmother’s favorite bird. For Madeline, it represents hope, connection, and the quiet reminder that none of us is ever truly alone.

Madeline’s dedication to service has earned recognition locally and nationally. In 2024, she was honored by the White House as a Top 20 Girls Leading Change Award recipient for her advocacy. She also received the Sunshine Award from Hill Country Community Ministries and the Gold President’s Volunteer Service Award for her continued leadership and commitment to others.

Now serving as Miss Metroplex’s Teen 2026, Madeline brings her message of compassion and empowerment to an even wider audience. Through her work, she continues to inspire awareness, action, and support for caregiving youth—leading with purpose, heart, and grace.

Mission:

It was my pleasure to sit down with KVUE News to discuss Amplifying Hidden Challenges for Caregiving Youth, and my partnership with local school districts to offer volunteer hours for those who spend time caring for a loved one.

I was recently featured on Austin’s Spectrum News 1 to discuss why youth caregivers are often overlooked, and how my new Caregiving Youth Service Hours Program in Leander ISD helps students get the recognition they deserve.

I recently sat down with KXAN News in Austin to advocate for Caregiving Youth Awareness Day, which happens annually on February 14th. Visit my Press page and subscribe to my YouTube channel to see more about my mission, Giving Grace.

Madeline’s Guideposts

You've got this

〰️

You've got this 〰️

  • Some days it can feel like you're just surviving, not thriving. But showing up for someone you love while managing your own life takes serious strength.

What you're doing matters more than you probably realize. On the hard days, remember: caregiving doesn't make you a superhero, but it does make you resilient.

  • You can love someone deeply and still feel exhausted, frustrated, or even resentful sometimes.

Those feelings don't make you a bad person; they make you human. It's possible to care about someone and still need space to just be a teenager. Your emotions are valid… all of them, even the messy ones.

  • Taking care of someone right now doesn't mean you're giving up your future. The responsibilities you carry don't have to become your entire story.

You're allowed to want things for yourself, like college, travel, a career, whatever inspires you. Your life can be bigger than this moment, and dreaming about it isn't selfish.
